PETALING JAYA: A total of 30 Barisan Nasional (BN) Members of Parliament have been ordered to appear before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, tomorrow morning.
In a statement, Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja, Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said, the face-to-face session was scheduled to take place at 10.30am.
“The purpose of this process is for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to be able to make a decision to appoint a member of the Dewan Rakyat who, in His Majesty’s opinion, may gain the trust of the majority as Prime Minister. This is in line with the provisions of the Constitution under Article 43 (2)(a),” he said.
He said the meeting on behalf of BN was a continuation of the meeting with the leaders of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) that took place this afternoon.
In the meantime, Ahmad Fadil said, His Majesty called for the people to be patient while waiting for the process of forming a new government after GE15.
“Seri Paduka also called on the people to join together in praying that the process would be simplified, as well as run smoothly for the sake of the beloved homeland.
“Seri Paduka invites the people together to pray that the country and the people are always blessed, blessed and protected from any form of disaster and calamity,” he said. – MESSENGER
