BN requests to postpone the session before the Agong tomorrow, remain neutral

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) is requesting the postponement of the individual meeting of the 30 MPs of the coalition with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which was scheduled for this morning.

The postponement request after several BN meetings tonight remains in favor of Perikatan Nasional (PN) or Pakatan Harapan (PH).

MIC Deputy President, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said, BN examined various matters including the party’s position in the meeting.

However, he said, the coalition has not made a decision to choose to support any party to form the government.

“If possible, we will postpone (the meeting session) because we have already asked Istana Negara (because we want to) examine some more matters.

“We are asking Istana Negara whether it can be postponed or not. The Secretary General of BN has informed earlier, if it is postponed, it will be postponed,” he told reporters, here tonight.

Meanwhile, MCA Secretary General, Datuk Chong Sin Woon said, two meetings tonight agreed to request a postponement before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“We maintain the decision this morning so that we do not favor anyone. We still stand as we did this morning. We do not support any PH or PN to form a government.

“So it is up to the President or BN Chairman to inform Tuanku,” he said.

Earlier, BN held two special meetings tonight, namely the meeting and the BN Supreme Council and BN Members of Parliament.

It follows the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ordering 30 BN Members of Parliament to meet Her Majesty at Istana Negara, this morning.

Earlier, BN agreed not to support any coalition to form the government, following the current government formation crisis. – MESSENGER
