DOHA: Security officials implemented a strange new rule at the World Cup this time when fans were banned from playing football outside the stadium.
The incident took place outside the Khalifa International Stadium when a group of fans were playing football and the number grew and the atmosphere on the stadium grounds became more lively.
However, security ordered the group of fans to disperse, before the police also got involved and ordered the same.
One of the young men involved, Mohamed Yunis from Tunisia, was clearly disappointed by the actions of the security officers because they did not disturb public order at all.
“We played so happily for just a few minutes, and then more people joined in and then they left, and were replaced by other people as well.
“Some are from India, Germany, Japan, Mexico and many more, and we all just want to have fun,” explained Yunis.
“Football is for everyone, not just for the officials and players but for the fans as well.
“We didn’t cause any problems here, those who ruined the atmosphere for us, they don’t realize this is giving the hosts a cold message to all the fans around the world,” explained Kumar Sarraisikan from India.
