Four brothers slept in PPS before voting

RANTAU PANJANG: Three brothers from Kuala Lumpur together with one of their brothers who is an external voter for the Rantau Panjang Parliament are willing to sleep in the temporary evacuation center (PPS) at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kubang Kuausince yesterday to vote in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Nurul Syahirah Mohd. Aris, 25, and his two younger sisters, Nurul Syazwani, 23, and Nurul Nusuha, 20, who work in the capital have no other choice after their family home in Kubang Kuau is still flooded.

Nuru Nasuha said, she along with her two sisters and their brother, Siti Aisyah Zuhariman, 26, boarded a car and traveled for 12 hours including traffic jams to get home, but had nowhere to stay when they arrived in the village.

“Our family has been at the PPS for the past six days. We have no other choice and have to spend the night at PPS with them.

“We are planning to return to the national capital this Sunday. “Despite going through various conjectures, we three brothers still fulfill our responsibilities as Malaysians in GE15,” he said when met at the PPS yesterday.

Before that, the General Operations Team (PGA) in collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Team, the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) and the Malaysian Volunteer Department (Rela) had carried out a joint effort at the school.

Meanwhile, Siti Aisyah said that riding in PPS was not an obstacle for her to go out to vote today.

He said, coincidentally, the polling station for him was the school which is also a PPS housing flood victims.

“I will go out early in the morning to vote in the next building. After voting, we went home to clean the house as the flood receded,” he said. – MESSENGER
