GEORGE TOWN: A total of 18,060 Election Commission (EC) officers have prepared to ensure the smoothness of the voting process in Penang tomorrow.
A spokesman for the Penang EC said that all officers will be at the designated polling centers as early as 6am tomorrow with police officers.
“All 18,060 personnel are now in the final phase to prepare equipment for tomorrow’s voting process and all are in a state of readiness.
“The votes will be counted as soon as the voting process is announced at 6 pm tomorrow,” he said here today.
Meanwhile, Utusan Malaysia’s survey at the Sri Pinang House Official Vote Tallying Center here found that EC officers for the Tanjong Parliament are checking equipment such as ballot boxes and so on to be taken to the Tanjong Parliament vote centers.
Tanjong Parliament’s Managing Officer, Rozita Hamid said, Tanjong Parliament officers carried out a session of equipment review and mandatory review involving ballot paper, ink and so on this morning.
“We are making final preparations for voting tomorrow and the Heads of Voting Centers are checking all the equipment that needs to be brought to the voting center here,” he said.
He added that there are 114 channels with 37 voting centers open in the Tanjong Parliament.
“There is no special Covid-19 channel open, so any voter who is positive for Covid-19 needs to inform the staff about this and they will be managed by the Ministry of Health (KKM) staff,” he said. – MESSENGER
