KOTA BHARU: The incumbent of the Gua Musang parliamentary seat for 10 terms from Barisan Nasional (BN) Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah or Ku Li failed to defend the area when he lost to a new face featured by PAS in the 15th General Election (GE15) just now.
Ku Li lost with a slim majority to Pas candidate Mohd. Azizi Abu Naim which is 163 votes.
Mohd. Azizi who is the Head of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Gua Musang got 21,826 votes.
Ku Li who is also Gua Musang UMNO leader only got 21,663 votes.
Meanwhile, candidate Asharun Uji (Pakatan Harapan) received 4,517 votes and Datu Dr. Samsu Adabi Mamat (Motherland Movement) with 371 votes.
In the 15th general election, PAS made a surprise when it swept 14 parliamentary seats in the state.
Interestingly, PAS won with a large majority in several areas except Gua Musang. – MESSENGER
