PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is confident that he has enough support from Dewan Rakyat members to be appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the 10th Prime Minister.
The chairman of Perikatan Nasional (PN) said that two leaders from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) have expressed their support and trust in him to be appointed to lead the central government.
He said, several other Members of the House of Representatives have also given the same commitment.
“As Chairman of PN, I am confident that I will obtain a sufficient number of support from Members of the Dewan Rakyat to enable me to be appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the 10th Prime Minister as required by the Federal Constitution,” he said in a statement today. .
Earlier, Muhyiddin informed that he had chaired the PN Supreme Council Meeting this afternoon.
In the meeting, he reported to the PN MT that he held a meeting with GPS Chairman, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg this morning regarding the formation of the Federal Government after GE15.
“He has informed the GPS Dewan Rakyat Members of their willingness to support and trust me to be appointed as the 10th Prime Minister.
“I have also held a meeting with GRS Chairman, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor who has also expressed the willingness of GRS Dewan Rakyat Members to give me support and trust,” he said. – MESSENGER
