PORT DICKSON – Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) wholly owned unit trust management company, Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) introduced the ASN Sukuk fund to be offered on Friday.
PNB Group Chairman, Tun Arifin Zakaria said, the new variable price fund focuses on investing in various Sukuk portfolios (Islamic income instruments) with 80 to 99 percent of the fund’s Net Asset Value focused on the asset class including Government Investment Issues (GII).
“ASN Sukuk targets investors with a conservative risk tolerance level who tend towards stable income in the medium to long term.
“I hope that our network of agents will be able to actively promote together and provide strong support in the marketing activities of ASN Sukuk in the future,” he said when he officiated the Malaysia Trust Week 2022 (MSAM 2022) event at the Pantai Batu 1 open area here, on Thursday .
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of ASNB, Muzzaffar Othman said, the move to introduce the first ASN Sukuk fund is in line with the PNB group’s efforts in expanding its range of product offerings to meet the needs of Malaysian investors.
According to him, the new investment is best for those who do not want to take risks and want to earn sustainable income in the medium to long term.
With the challenging market environment, the launch of ASN Sukuk is another effort by ASNB in building a resilient investment portfolio and exploring available opportunities.
“ASN Sukuk allows our unit holders to complete and diversify their existing investment portfolio in ASNB to build a more balanced portfolio,” he said.
