The National Palace is the focus of the media

KUALA LUMPUR : Various media agencies started camping in front of Gates 1 and 2 of the Istana Negara, here, since this morning.

It is to await the arrival of the party leader and the leader of the political coalition who were asked to present their Prime Ministerial candidate to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah before 2pm this afternoon.

As of 12 noon today, the situation was a little quiet at the Main Gate of the Istana Negara as most of the media practitioners gathered at Gate 2 to await the presence of the leaders involved to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, today.

Yesterday, Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja, Istana Negara, Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin was reported to have said that the agreed political party coalition must submit the name of a member of the Dewan Rakyat who has received the trust of the majority following the political party coalition to become the candidate for Prime Minister.

He said the Istana Negara had received the official results of the 15th General Election (GE-15) from the Election Commission (SPR) at 1.15pm yesterday.
