To Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, this is my advice – Zulkifli

PUTRAJAYA: Be careful of bad advisors (bitanah al-su’) because they can lift you up and they can bring you down.

That was among the advice given by the former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Seri Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad al-Bakri to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Zulkifli said that he wanted Anwar to appreciate the sacrifices and struggles of the previous generation who raised the name of Malaysia in the eyes of the world.

“Malaysia is a Muslim country that is respected by the world. You are the successor and decider. Protect Islam in this country with all your heart and soul.

“To Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, I congratulate him and hope he will be able to shoulder this heavy duty and trust,” he said through a post on Facebook late last night.

He said, he respected the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Council of Rulers for their wisdom and wisdom in deciding this rather complicated issue.

Zulkifli said, as the previous Prime Minister started Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, he has delivered appropriate advice to them from time to time for guidance.

“May Allah SWT be a witness to the fulfillment of my responsibility in front of the leaders. I do not give advice except on the basis of love for the country, religion and race,” he said.

In the meantime, he said, he wanted all Malaysians, regardless of race and religion, to take a deep breath and accept any decision with open arms.

“Winning is not grandiose, losing is not collapsing. Stop the culture of swearing at each other. Don’t make this time to ‘get revenge’.

“For those who have not succeeded, it is not the end of everything. God willing, there is a better destiny for those who continue to be patient, sincere, and steadfast.

“Malaysia will not succeed without an opposition that carefully checks and balances. Oppose with wisdom, full of conscience and trust for the sake of the country,” he said.

He said, he started writing about political jurisprudence in conjunction with the 15th General Election (GE15) since November 17 until today which can be accessed via the link (

For that, he wants to decide today as the last day he writes for this special series. – MESSENGER
